The rumours that Lola Ade-John, the minister of tourism, had been poisoned and taken to the hospital have been refuted by the ministry of tourism.

The Minister was sent to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, as soon as she began exhibiting symptoms of poisoning, according to the Peoples Gazette.

According to family sources, Lola had been at the facility as of Friday morning for four days.

Although it was reported that she had been using a breathing machine, it was not immediately clear what exactly she had consumed or how.

The Minister’s family and the Ministry, however, are allegedly at odds over how she should be handled.

The Minister’s family rejected Ngozi Onwudike’s argument that she should not be transferred because the FMC is a public hospital and its services wouldn’t result in significant costs to the government, according to Gazette. Onwudike is the permanent secretary of the Ministry. But according to insiders, they stayed with her because they were unable to acquire the money to transfer her to a private hospital. On Friday morning, the permanent secretary’s phone number was unreachable.

However, in an interview with Vanguard, the Ministry’s assistant director of press, Emem Mariam Ofiong, refuted the theory that Lola Ade-John had been poisoned.
