The federal government will start distributing its Iyaloja Funds to 1.5 million market women nationwide this month in an effort to increase their capital and businesses.
Each recipient of the program will receive a N50,000 non-interest loan from the government, which will be disbursed in three parts.
Additionally, it will start its Renewed Hope Shelter program, which will give the needy, internally displaced people, and refugees housing.
Instead of using contractors, the plan would mobilize local communities to construct homes independently and independently.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Beta Edu, disclosed this when she visited Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, in Abuja, yesterday.
According to her, each of the three phases of the Iyaloja Fund will cover 500,000 market women.
She added that the ministry has begun verification and enrollment of people, and would be reaching 109 markets across the country in the first phase.
