Nigerians React As Police Arrest Naira Marley Over Mohbad’s Death

Reactions have followed the arrest of Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, also known by his stage name Naira Marley, in connection with the passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as MohBad, one of his former signees.

Naira Marley was detained by the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) upon his entry back into the nation on Tuesday night, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

In a statement on Tuesday night, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police command, acknowledged the development.

Late on Tuesday, Hundeyin posted on his X (old Twitter) account, “Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.”

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Naira Marley is anticipated to support the police in their inquiry into the death of MohBad, which has sparked conflicting responses on and off social media.

Prior to the police statement, Naira Marley had already sworn to clear his name and declared his coming in Nigeria to assist the investigation into the passing of his former signee.
