PDP Acting Chairman, Damagum, Other NWC Members Absent At Atiku’s World Press Conference

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar had a global press conference on Thursday, and it was noticed that certain major party executives were missing. This led to speculation that there may be a leadership rift inside the PDP.

According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) and Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, did not attend the Thursday international news conference.

Additionally, none of the party’s 13 current governors or its representatives in the National Assembly’s two chambers were seen attending the ceremony.

Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the vice presidential candidate for the PDP, was not present either.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said he was not present at the time of the ceremony when asked about the absence of important party leaders from the event.

Ologunagba, however, asserted that he was unable to explain or provide justifications for why other NWC members were unable to attend the event as well.

At the time this report was filled out, the PDP acting chairman was inaccessible via the platform. He didn’t answer his calls or reply to his texts.
