Churches, mosques, nightclubs, bars, and event venues have been advised by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) to abide by the acceptable sound levels in order to reduce noise pollution.

The agency noted that excessive noise posed a serious threat to the peace and wellbeing of the neighborhoods in a statement on LASEPA’s X account.

Everyone must act as responsible stewards of the environment, it was claimed.

“As a courtesy to our neighborhoods, make sure that sound levels are kept within reasonable bounds.

“Together, we can enjoy our spaces without causing undue disturbance, foster a quieter and a more peaceful environment.”
