According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the botched shooting at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday was carried out by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organisation Hamas.

Daniel Hagari, the spokesperson for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), agreed with him.

Anaedoonline.ng previously reported that the aforementioned attack killed over 500 people. According to reports, the hospital is home to thousands of displaced Palestinian civilians seeking medical treatment and safety from attacks.

The attack was carried out by Israeli airstrikes, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

However, IDF spokesperson Hagari stated that the soldiers had no knowledge of what occurred at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.

“We will get the details and update the public. I don’t know to say whether it was an Israeli air strike,” Hagari had said earlier.

Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Bahrain had all accused Israel of firing the rocket at the hospital.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, blamed the horrible hospital blast on Palestine.

“So the whole world knows: The barbaric terrorists in Gaza are the ones who attacked the Gaza hospital, not the IDF,” Netanyahu said.

“Those who cruelly murdered our children, murder their children as well,” Netanyahu said in a statement on Tuesday.

In a later statement, an IDF spokeswoman denied any involvement in the air strike. According to Hagari, a review of IDF operational systems shows that terrorists fired a volley of missiles in Gaza, passing close to the Al Ahli hospital at the moment it was attacked.

“Intelligence from multiple sources we have in our hands indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza,” IDF added.

The attack also comes a day before US President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Israel in a show of solidarity, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
