UPDATE: Tinubu Appoints Olusi As Bank Of Industry CEO

Dr. Olasupo Olusi has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry (BOI) by President Bola Tinubu.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Olusi’s appointment as CEO of the BOI is for a four-year term in the first instance.

Olusi’s appointment was approved by the President following the voluntary retirement of former BOI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Olukayode Pitan.

According to the statement, Olasupo Olusi has spent the last 20 years as a World Bank economist and development finance expert.

Dr. Olusi also served as the Coordinating Minister of Economy and Minister of Finance’s economic adviser between 2011 and 2015.

He graduated from Hull University in the United Kingdom (UK) and earned a master’s degree in International Money, Finance, and Investment, as well as a doctorate in Finance and Economics from Durham University in the United Kingdom in 2005.

The President directs the new BOI CEO to ensure that Nigerians operating all sizes of enterprises across sectors have fair and equitable access to much-needed support to boost employment generation and wealth creation across income groups in the country, with a special focus on lower and middle-income enterprise operators.
