Newcastle Eyes Nigerian and Bayern Leverkusen Striker Victor Boniface

Newcastle United is reportedly in the hunt for Nigerian and Bayern Leverkusen’s in-form striker, Victor Boniface. According to The Sun, scouts from the Premier League club closely monitored Boniface during Nigeria’s recent friendly match against Saudi Arabia in Portugal.

The 22-year-old Nigerian has been on fire this season, netting nine goals and providing three assists in just 10 games for Bayern Leverkusen. His outstanding performances have been crucial to the success of Xabi Alonso’s side in the Bundesliga for the 2023/24 season.

Boniface, who joined the Bundesliga outfit from the Belgian Pro League’s Union St Gilloise for €12 million this summer, came close to scoring in the international friendly and even forced an own-goal from the Saudi team.

Newcastle United’s manager, Eddie Howe, is eager to reinforce his attacking options, and Boniface’s combination of physicality and scoring prowess could be a valuable addition alongside players like Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.
