Why Nnamdi Kanu’s Case Should Be Treated As A Political Matter – Former Chief Judge

According to Peter Umeadi, a former chief judge of Anambra State, resolving the issue of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), through politics is the wisest course of action.

The former judge argued that political action should be taken to settle Kanu’s issue rather than going to court.

On Sunday, he made this claim in a speech to journalists in Abuja.

Kanu’s release, according to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for president in 2023, will end the Southeast’s insecurity problem.

According to Umeadi: “Well, the issue of insecurity in the South East first of all, it has been said before and I agree, for now, it is a serious matter.

“If it is solved, then that is good. The problem, if it is not solved, then you begin to look for another reason why it is still there.

“But for now everybody is saying it and I agree that the issue of Nnamdi Kanu should be treated as a political matter, not a legal matter.

“So if he regains his freedom, perhaps that will be the end of what we are seeing in the South East now, perhaps.”
