What Akeredolu Discussed With Southwest Governors In Ibadan Revealed (Photos)

Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo State and chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, revealed specifics of his meeting with the Southwest governors during a meeting on Tuesday.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti were among the governors in attendance at the meeting, which was held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.

Akeredolu, who shared pictures of the trip on his X account, said he met with regional governors to talk about national and other issues affecting the area and its residents.

He praised the Governors’ unity and emphasised the need of the Southwest States’ ongoing cooperation.

He said, “It was a delight to receive my brother Governors from the Southwest today as we discussed National and other issues of interest to the region and the people.”

Declare Rotimi Akeredolu Unfit To Remain Governor and Declare Him Incapacitated

The Ondo State Executive Council has been encouraged to declare Governor Rotimi Akeredolu unable to continue serving as the state’s leader due to his deteriorating health, according to a group of lawyers and concerned residents.

According to the lawyers’ statement, the request was submitted in compliance with section 189 of the Nigerian Constitution of 1999 (as amended), and they also noted that the governor’s protracted absence has hampered the state’s socioeconomic development.

The statement read, “Some lawyers of Ondo State origin have demanded the Ondo State Executive Council to comply with the provisions of Section 189 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (As Amended) by declaring that the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN is incapacitated and unable to perform the functions of his office.”
