The Rivers State Police command has verified claims that her boyfriend, Demain Okoligwe, a 400-level student at the University of Port Harcourt, killed 300-level student Justina Otuene.

Following the discovery of Otuene’s remains at his home along NTA Road, Mgbuoba in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Collins, a 300-level undergraduate in the Department of Biological Chemistry, had his boyfriend arrested.

The state commissioner of police, CP Nwonyi Emeka, presented the suspect to reporters today, October 26, saying that Ozuoba Division personnel had received a complaint from a neighbour who had noticed an extremely strong smell. The neighbour had hurried to the police station, where the DPO had escorted detectives to the location.

He said, ‘’On arrival, the door was forcefully opened, and a Ghana must-go bag containing a lifeless body was recovered back to the station.”


According to CP Emeka, Justina Otuene, a 20-year-old Uniport biochemistry 300 student, was found dead and her body had been slaughtered; it had been sent to the mortuary.

He said that the case has been moved to SCID for a covert probe and that a preliminary inquiry is now underway.

He sent his condolences to the victim’s family and advised young women to exercise extreme caution before entering into any kind of relationship.
