In a continuation of the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military has reported that its forces engaged in intense clashes, resulting in the deaths of numerous militants. This development comes as part of Israel’s firm response to the Hamas attacks that occurred on October 7.

The Palestinian militant group, Hamas, has also reported “heavy fighting” in northern Gaza, marking the third night of Israel’s expanded ground incursions into the war-torn region, involving the deployment of tanks and troops.

The Israeli military described the operations as a response to militants who had barricaded themselves in buildings and tunnels while attempting to launch attacks against Israeli troops. These encounters have been marked by air raids and targeted strikes.

One notable incident involved an Israeli fighter jet targeting a building with over 20 Hamas operatives inside, while another strike was directed at an anti-tank missile launching post at Al-Azhar University in the heart of Gaza City.
