The Federal Government’s scheduled meeting with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), and organised labour has been delayed.

Anaedoonline.ng learned that the meeting that was supposed to take place yesterday has been rescheduled.

The purpose of the conference was to review the 15-point Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) progress that resulted in the postponement of the scheduled indefinite strike starting on October 3.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday caused the meeting, which was called by President Bola Tinubu’s Office of the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to be postponed.

Newsmen was informed by a source that the meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

According to the source, “The meeting did not hold. It has been postponed. It was postponed because of the FEC meeting today (yesterday). Government representatives said they forgot that today (yesterday) was the FEC meeting. The meeting will now be held next week on Tuesday.”

Recall that the government’s signing of a 15-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Labour resulted in the postponement of the scheduled October 3 strike over what Labour characterised as widespread, agonising suffering in the nation due to the federal government’s removal of the petrol subsidy and floating of foreign exchange.
