Nigeria’s Senate Passes N2.17trn 2023 Supplementary Budget

The N2.3 trillion supplemental budget for the 2023 fiscal year proposed by President Bola Tinubu has been approved by the Senate.

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate president, took the report to a voice vote before announcing the approval.

This was a follow-up to the Senate Committee on Appropriations report that was adopted and discussed during Thursday’s plenary.

UPDATE: INEC Clears Air On N18bn Supplementary Budget

Adeola Olamilekan, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, presented Akpabio with the committee’s report, which was approved after discussion and adoption. The senators from both parties then cast yes votes on the report.
