The Labour Party (LP) branch in Lagos State has voiced concerns with the recent ruling by the Supreme Court upholding Bola Tinubu’s legitimacy as the legitimately elected President of Nigeria.

The party expressed its disappointment with the court’s decision in a statement sent to the public on Tuesday by Dayo Ekong, its state chairman. The party further stated that the Supreme Court ought to be renowned for delivering justice without fear or favour.

Speaking to reporters during the party’s State Executive Council meeting, Ekong insisted that the recent events will not weaken the Labour Party.

The chairman of the Lagos Liberation Party stated that the party would make every effort to prevent a repeat of the 2023 election, even in light of the apex court’s decision to rule against the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

“Labour Party Lagos State is deeply worried about the recent judgment that emanated from the highest court of the land and one of the most critical embodiment of democratic institutions saddled with the responsibility of dispensing justice without fear or favour.

“We at Labour Party are not deterred but rather even more determined to ensure that the events of this in the election cycle will never repeat itself.
