According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the strike will start on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

Following the abuse of NLC National President Joe Ajaero in Imo State last week, the TUC and NLC came to this decision.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, was accused by the Organised Labour of participating in the recent attack on Ajaero, in the Imo State capital of Owerri. This accusation caused significant indignation.

Last Friday, the Organised Labour blamed the attack on Ajaero on the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, and gave the Federal Government a five-day deadline to replace the police commissioner.

But the governor then claimed that he was not involved in the assault on the labour leader.

Additionally, organised labour asked that some of the governor’s assistants be taken into custody and prosecuted. If their demands were not met, they threatened to go on a national strike.
