The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared its intention to launch a portal for marriage, death, and birth registration.

During a pre-launch briefing on Monday, Nasir Kwarra, the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), confirmed the development. He said that all civil registrations, including birth, stillbirth, adoption, marriage, divorce, migration, and death, are included in the registration system.

He claims that the project intends to expedite Nigeria’s enhanced vital statistics and civil registration systems during a ten-year period, from 2023 to 2030.

In addition, Kwarra revealed that the commission is working with UNICEF and produced the e-CRVS Operational Readiness Assessment Report, which demonstrated the potential of digital technologies in delivering game-changing results in CRVS and integrating data from various systems to securely store data at scale, economically, in Nigeria.
