The Bishop of Sokoto Diocese of the Catholic Church, Bishop Matthew Kukah, has expressed disappointment in Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, whom he claims is a poor representation of Nigerian youth. Kukah criticized the governor for the violence in the state leading up to the November 11 governorship election.
During an interview on Channels TV Sunrise Daily Programme, Bishop Kukah lamented that despite being the youngest governor in the country, Yahaya Bello has not been an effective example of what Nigerian youth can achieve with the opportunity to lead.
Kukah urged for peace between the labor unions and the Imo state government and called for peaceful elections in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa. He emphasized that when elections go awry, it is the ordinary people who suffer the consequences.
Bishop Kukah’s message encourages political leaders and young representatives to uphold the principles of peace and good governance as they strive to lead the nation.
