YIAGA Africa has called for the arrest and prosecution of INEC officials and their associates who were involved in electoral fraud during off-the-cuff governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Civil Society Organisation made the call in a preliminary report of the Watching The Vote (WTV) Working Group, signed by Yiaga Africa’s Director Programmes, Dr. Asmau Maikudi, and Cynthia Mbamalu, which highlights the collation and announcement of election results across states.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room has called for an extensive investigation into the use of pre-filled results sheets during the governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi.

Ya’u emphasised the discovery of pre-filled results sheets and a bag containing one million naira in Kogi’s Ogori Mangogo Local Government Area, where a man was caught.

“There were also reports of filled result sheets in RA Eika/Ohizeni, Okehi LGA. Also in Adavi LGA, PU 044, RA01, there were reports of unavailability of election result sheets and failure to upload results on the iRev portal.

“Situation Room calls for a thorough investigation of these incidents in order to preserve the integrity of the elections,” the association stated in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday.
