Allegations of Electoral Malpractices Emerge in Kogi State Governorship Election

In the ongoing governorship election in Kogi State, Mr. Muritala Ajaka, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, has raised serious concerns about alleged malpractices affecting the integrity of the electoral process. Ajaka, through his media aide, Mr. Faruk Adejoh-Audu, reported missing results sheets at collation centers in the Ogori Magongo area of the state.

According to Ajaka, agents inspecting materials at various ward collation centers in the early hours discovered the absence of result sheets. He cited specific instances, such as Olamaboro Ward 5, where INEC staff, security personnel, and materials disappeared from the designated location overnight.

Furthermore, Ajaka accused an APC Council Chairman of being apprehended by security agents with a substantial amount of cash in the early hours of the election day. Although initially detained, the chairman was reportedly later released.
