INEC Speaks On Forged Results In Kogi Amidst Ongoing Voting Exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has responded to widespread falsified Kogi State election results.

Anaedoonline.ng previously revealed that a civil society organisation, YIAGA Africa, raised the alarm on Saturday morning over the discovery of election results from a polling unit in Kogi before the exercise ended.

Polling Unit 004, Eni Ward, Ogori/Mangogo, Kogi State, was alleged to have produced the results.

Yiaga Africa made this assertion in a post on X under the username @YIAGA.

It requested that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conduct an investigation into the results.

The electoral umpires said in a statement via X that the matter is serious and that senior officials assigned to Kogi State are examining the event.

The statement reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State.

“The Commission views this situation seriously.

“Our senior officials deployed to the State are currently investigating the incident(s). The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly.”
