UPDATE: ‘It Is Unthinkable That NLC Could Go This Low’- Onanuga

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have come under fire from Special Advisor to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, over their decision to shut down the country due to the abuse of their national chairman, Joe Ajaero.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the TUC and NLC started an indefinite strike on Tuesday in protest of Ajaero’s brutalization in Imo among other problems.

Onanuga, however, claimed in a post published on his official X account that the NLC and TUC are going through a crazy phase in response to the organization’s decision to carry forward with its industrial action.

He said that the national economy was being harmed by labour unions due to one man’s damaged ego.

“It is truly the season of madness in NLC and TUC. It was unthinkable the NLC and TUC could go this low, resort to damaging the national economy because of the bruised ego of one man,” Onanuga wrote.

Remember that the union’s decision to proceed with the strike action in spite of a court ruling prohibiting it from doing so was previously criticised by the presidential assistant.

In his previous remarks, Onanuga claimed that the labour union made the decision to penalise a nation of more than 200 million people due to a private issue involving the NLC President.
