Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has advised Abba Kabir Yusuf, the ousted governor of Kano State, not to go to the Supreme Court to challenge the Appeal Court’s nullification of his election.

Kwankwaso advised Yusuf to concede defeat and hold off on running for Kano State governor until 2027.

Recall that the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) candidate for governor, Nasiru Gawuna, was declared the election’s victor and Yusuf was dismissed by the Appeal Court.

In response, Kwankwaso stated that Yusuf should go and relax because the evidence against him at the Appeal Court was so strong.

Addressing journalists in Kano, he said: “It would be another mission impossible for him to drag the case to the Supreme Court, going by the available evidence that nailed him at both the Tribunal and the Appeal Court. Hence, the need for him to go and rest until 2027.”

He also commended Gawuna, stressing that his victory was a triumph of democracy and the rule of law.

“Governor Yusuf should have read the handwriting on the wall, analyzed the various pieces of evidence used by the Tribunal to sack him, adding that those pieces of evidence are convincing, and it would be very difficult for the court to neglect in ruling.
