The decision of Usman Ododo, the next governor of Kogi State, to kneel and give Governor Yahaya Bello his Certificate of Return was met with reactions.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Ododo’s actions while collecting his certificate of return alongside running mate Joel Salifu startled a lot of Nigerians.

Gabriel Longpet, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), delivered the certificate of return on Friday at the INEC offices in Lokoja, the state capital.

To the surprise of many spectators, Ododo walked before Governor Bello shortly after obtaining his certificate and knelt down to give it to him.

Nonetheless, some online users have attacked Ododo’s choice, claiming that the nation’s politics have been negatively impacted by the godfatherism era, which is still very much alive in the nation.
