Abdulazeez Adegbola, also known as Tani Olohun, is a well-known traditionalist who has begged Muslims for forgiveness for burning the Qur’an and disparaging many Muslims in Kwara State.

Tani Olorun, who was granted bail on Thursday, Nov. 16, addressed the court and pleaded for forgiveness.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Sheikh Labeeb Lagbaji and Modrasat Muhammad, backed by Professor Abubakar Aliagan, hauled the traditionalist to court on charges of burning the Quran among other offences.

He said, “I don’t know that burning the Qur’an is an offense, and when I was told, I immediately pulled down the video of the incident from my social media handle in less than a minute.

“I beg all my prosecutors and the Muslims all over to forgive me, and I promised I would not repeat such an act again of posting negative videos on social media handles.”

Tani Olohun was granted bail of N2 million and three sureties in the same amount by the Magistrate A.S. Adam-presiding court earlier. Tani Olohun is on trial for two distinct offences.

The court decided that two of the sureties had to be landowners in Oyo State or within the court’s jurisdiction.

An adjournment was made for January 9, 2024.
