On Friday, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma received a Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
The certificate was given to Uzodinma by the state’s resident electoral commissioner for INEC in Owerri, Imo State.

After receiving the most votes, Uzodinma was proclaimed the victor of the state’s off-cycle governorship election on Saturday by INEC.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s Samuel Anyanwu and the Labour Party’s Athan Achonu were beaten by the re-elected governor.
