In response to accusations made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded by claiming that a presidential cabal is attempting to violate Nigerians’ democratic rights.
Anaedoonline.ng remembers that on Thursday, PDP national chairman Umar Damagum declared that the purported cabal was attempting to weaken democracy, violate Nigerians’ democratic rights, and stifle the rule of law.
Felix Morka, the publicity secretary for the APC, responded in a statement, stating that PDP’s delusions about a one-party state were only understandable in light of their failed attempt to rule Nigeria for 60 years. However, PDP is now attempting to discredit the APC with its own brand of harsh, intolerant, anti-democratic, and unpatriotic fanaticism.

The PDP, according to the APC, is only concocting new theories in response to its defeat in the February presidential election.
The opposition was then counselled by the ruling party to look inward and cease blaming others for its defeat in order to reinvent itself.
“What is by far more repugnant, devious, and a clear and present threat to our democratic way of life is the PDP’s relentless and unjustified objurgation of our courts and judges. The PDP has maligned and poured invectives on our judges at every turn since its miserable performance in the general elections. When it is not accusing judges of bias or corruption, it is calling for the disbandment of some judicial panels.
“Rather than dissipate its low energy on rallying other opposition parties into a phantom coalition, the PDP may wish to undertake critical introspection, reinvent itself, if not already too late, instead of blaming the courts and others for the self-inflicted hot mess the party is in, or save our partisan democracy the embarrassment by winding down altogether,” he added.
