Early on Wednesday morning, gunmen who have not yet been identified stormed the Adamawa State Police Headquarters, which is situated in the centre of the Jimeta community in the Yola North local government area.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Yola, the state capital, is in a state of terror due to the unexpected attack.
A local, who begged to remain anonymous, claimed that for at least half an hour, there were gunfire noises all around.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the attack while assuring Daily Trust that everything was under control.
Nguroje said that the attack was repulsed, but it was unclear who was responsible.
According to the authorities, inquiries are still being conducted to determine the reason for the attack and its perpetrators.
According to one report, the attackers were military members seeking retribution for what they believed to be the police’s supposed assassination of a military official.
