According to Anaedoonline.ng, the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), which was previously headed by former President Yomi Otubela, has announced the dissolution of its national leadership.

The association will be run by an interim administration for four months until elections are held to bring the organisation back into order, according to the Board of Trustees (BOT).

This declaration was made by the BOT at a conference in Abuja after Otubela’s term ended on November 22, 2023.

This news outlet is aware of the ongoing leadership conflict within NAPPS, wherein Otubela was previously impeached by the People’s Parliament for purported misbehaviour. It was also claimed that Otubela, who refuted all of the accusations, was trying to prolong his term by delaying the creation of an election commission.

Dr. Mijinyawa Said, the Chairman of NAPPS’ BOT, stated during the most recent conference that the board’s choice was made to protect the association from several administrative upheavals.

He stated that various tactics and the principle of necessity were applied in order to make it easier for a new administration to be established, one that would be in charge of managing the association’s operations and holding credible elections in less than four months, or 120 days.
