Odinkalu Blasts Supreme Court Over Obi’s Appeal, Calls It ‘Supreme Scandal’

Renowned Nigerian human rights activist Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has charged the Supreme Court of Nigeria with engaging in a “Supreme Scandal.”

The lack of a formal decision on the appeal filed by Labour Party candidate Peter Obi is the source of the controversy.

Obi had challenged the results of the February 25 presidential election.

The Supreme Court, chaired by Justice Inyang Okoro, postponed ruling on the appeal following the presentation of argument briefs by all parties.

The Labour Party is worried, though, because Obi’s appeal has been pending since October 26 without a formal decision.

Prof. Odinkalu has accused this circumstance, calling it a “Supreme Scandal.”

Allegations of electoral irregularities and vote rigging in favour of Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress were included in Obi’s appeal.

As of the time of publication, the Supreme Court had not yet responded to these accusations.
