Nigerian award-winning musician Davido has voiced worry for his colleague Daniel Ikubor, also known as Rema, on his decision to take a break from music.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the “Calm Down” crooner withdrew from all December obligations in a brief statement posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday in order to prioritise his health.

Rema pointed out that he had neglected his health during his years of touring and that it was time to heal.

He wrote, “Breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December. Been years of touring I’ve ignored my health & I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again love.”

In response, Davido wrote on Instagram that their work is difficult and praised Rema for going above and beyond to represent Africa with pride.

He wrote: “The job ain’t easy…physically and mentally!!. You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations. Get some rest king @heisrema come back stronger.”

Rema, meanwhile, has responded to claims that, on November 14, 2023, at his headline show at London’s 02 Arena, he used “satanic/Illuminati” emblems.

Recall that on Tuesday, Rema became the only African artist to sell out the busiest music venue in the globe, joining his more seasoned peers Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake in the 20,000-seat 02 Arena.

Riding a horse while wearing a red mask and a black robe, Rema made her way onto the stage.

Following his second entrance atop a red-eyed bat, some fans surmised that Rema was endorsing “Illuminati” through his artwork due to these decisions and the performance stage’s general layout.

The superstar from Edo, however, responded via his X (formerly Twitter) page, stating that Edo culture served as inspiration for his image selection.

The singer claimed that his mask was a reproduction of the well-known Queen Idia mask and that the artificial horse he rode on stage was a replica of a Benin artefact.

He continued by saying that his second appearance’s fake bat was a tribute to the bats that soar across Edo’s night sky.
