According to President Joe Biden, if Donald Trump hadn’t threatened to unseat him as the country’s unique threat in 2024, he might have decided against running for reelection.

At a 2024 campaign fundraiser held outside of Boston, Biden said, “I’m not sure I would be running if Trump wasn’t.” We can’t allow him to prevail.

Biden’s honest self-evaluation comes at a time when even ardent Democrats are becoming increasingly concerned about the president’s advanced age.

At a Fox News town hall on Tuesday, Trump, the outgoing president from 2017 to 2021, responded to criticism by saying, “Someone gave him a talking point they thought would sound .”

In response to inquiries concerning his age, Biden—who is running for a second four-year term in the next election—proved to reporters at the White House that he has no plans to withdraw from the contest.

“No, not now,” Biden replied when asked if he would consider stepping aside should Trump, aged 77, withdraw from seeking a second term.

“Look, he is running, and I have to run.” When questioned about whether he would have run if Trump were not in the race, Biden responded, “I expect so.”

Biden has stated during his 2020 presidential campaign that his decision to run was influenced by Trump’s handling of a number of issues, notably the 2017 Charlottesville, Virginia, white supremacist demonstration.

In the forthcoming election, Biden will continue to paint Trump as a danger to democracy because he will have no opposition to him for his party’s candidature.

Meanwhile, Trump has painted Biden as a dangerous despot and is currently being prosecuted for his attempts to void the results of the 2020 election.

According to recent polling data, the Republican front-runner is ahead of Biden nationally and in fictitious matches with important swing states.
