Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has stated he is too busy to be sidetracked by protests despite growing calls for his immediate resignation.

Speaking on Thursday at the start of the repair work on the Asokoro and Wuse roads, Wike reaffirmed his dedication to his duties as the minister for the Federal Capital Territory, saying he has no time for such diversion.

Speaking about the protests by citizens of Abuja, Wike asserted that the majority of protestors receive money from undisclosed sources in order to go to the streets, implying that many of them were driven by financial incentives.

“Somebody told me that some people were carrying placards… Frankly speaking, I don’t even have time to see all that. I don’t want to be distracted. I want to be focused to deliver on the mandate given to us by Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Wike stated.
