Unless there is a last-minute change, Simon Lalong, the minister of labour and employment, is anticipated to resign from his ministry to take a Senate seat.

There are signs that Lalong is ready to enter the Senate after a Court of Appeal decision upheld his victory in the Plateau South senatorial race.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Lalong’s status as a senator was confirmed when he obtained his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently.

Lalong, the former governor of Plateau State and director of the Tinubu Presidential Council, is getting ready to take on his new responsibilities in the Senate, according to people close to him who talked with Vanguard.

According to the source, “The Minister will very soon join the Senate. He will go there to ensure that President Bola Tinubu succeeds. The Senate is where the elders are and he wants to join them.

“A new younger person will be appointed by Mr President as the Minister representing Plateau State to replace His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment as soon as he resigns.

“You know the role played by the Minister during the campaigns, he believes in Asiwaju and is ready to contribute to ensure that the government succeeds.”
