Primate Elijah Ayodele, the head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has counselled Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to concentrate on his official responsibilities and give God complete control over the acts of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
Primate Ayodele’s advice is in reaction to the current political unrest in Rivers State, which has caused a divide between Governor Sim Fubara’s administration and Wike’s group.
The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Oluwatosin Osho, his media assistant, sent a statement on behalf of the priest pleading with the governor to avoid a confrontation, stressing that it would be counterproductive.

The spiritual leader expressed faith that God will guide Governor Fubara’s efforts towards ensuring the welfare of the people of Rivers State, expressing confidence that God would intervene in the matter involving Wike.
Primate Ayodele claimed that Governor Fubara would be foolish to try to confront Wike because it was not his fight to lose. He emphasised that Wike was suffering the results of his own deeds and urged the governor to let God take control.
He stated, “Fubara should demonstrate humility and fulfill his commitments to God. Rather than engaging in a feud with Wike, he should let him be and concentrate on his responsibilities and developmental projects.
“God wants to punish Wike for his wickedness. If Fubara takes a step to fight Wike, he will fail. Let Wike continue to fight himself, God will fight for you.’’
