Unexpectedly, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor, the Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has formally resigned from his role.
Adangor submitted a letter to Governor Siminalayi Fubara announcing his resignation, citing “purely personal reasons” as the basis for his decision.
But there have been rumours that connect Adangor’s resignation to the Governor’s recent, contentious acts.

Particularly, there have been questions raised by the governor’s decision to only provide the state budget to five members of the Assembly.
A further layer to the current predicament is the demolition of the State House of Assembly structure on Wednesday.
