Victor Osimhen thinks the Super Eagles may rule the African football landscape once more because of their unwavering readiness.

The Nigerian striker and his colleagues are gearing up to begin the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire next month, and they have their sights set on winning a fourth championship.

Group A opponents for the Super Eagles include Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.

Osimhen (Napoli) highlighted the team’s resolve to challenge for the title this time around following a shocking elimination in the Round of 16 at the last tournament in Cameroon.

The Super Eagles are keen to demonstrate their abilities and regain their position as one of Africa’s football powerhouses as the stage is set for a fierce contest.

“We are ready and preparing very well,” Osimhen told CAF Media.

“The squad is in high spirits. We are raring to go and hope that we shall do well there.”

Jose Peseiro’s team will play Equatorial Guinea in the inaugural game at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on January 14, 2024.
