Tinubu Was Ready To Take Hard Action If Wike and Fubara Resolution Failed – Presidency

President Bola Tinubu was prepared and able to take decisive action if the political crisis roiling Rivers State wasn’t resolved by Monday night, according to the Presidency’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.

He claimed that the President is not acting for political reasons when he gets involved in the issue.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, on Monday night, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, who was his immediate predecessor, reached a consensus to put an end to the political unrest roiling the state.

Following a meeting between the two opposing factions and President Tinubu and other relevant parties, an agreement was achieved.

After the resolution was signed, Ngelale declared on television that the president behaved like the country’s father.

“The motive of the President in this case is clearly not a political one. He’s the father of the nation.

“He’s the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. It’s his primary responsibility to ensure that there’s peace, stability and security in all parts of the country.

“If he sees that peace is breaking down in any part of the country, this is a President that will take action. But nobody should be mistaken, His Excellency, Mr President, was fully ready and equipped to take a very hard action if this resolution was not reached.
