Anambra House of Assembly Congratulates Igwe Nnewi As He Marks 60 Years On The Throne

The Anambra State house of Assembly yesterday in a plenary session congratulated the traditional ruler of Nnewi, HRH. Igwe Kenneth. O. N. Orizu III (JP, CoN), on his 60 Years on the throne (Diamond Jubilee celebration) and his 98th birthday celebration.

In a motion presented on the floor of the house on 20th December, 2023 by Member representing Nnewi North constituency, Hon. Augustine Onyekachukwu Ike, popularly known as Ikedioji and his twenty-eight other colleagues, the lawmakers celebrated the life grand patron Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council on his upcoming 60th Ofala coming up on the 28th of Demember 2023 and as well his Ninety-eight (98) birthday celebration.

Stressing further, the member representing Nnewi North constituency, Ikedioji made case for Igwe Nnewi as the Oldest serving monarch alive and as such deserved to be celebrated by ndi Anambra. He aslso made a loving remark about Igwe Orizu irrespective of his age, still reads without eye glasses, writes without help or support, make rulings with his mind intact and still attend occasions.

In a motion taken by the lawmakers, the Assembly members as well pointed out some glorious feats the living legend has attained, like the creation of Nkwo Nnewi and the Industrialisation of Nnewi town which brought so much development and revenue to the state and putting Nnewi on global stage.

The member representing Anaocha Constituency 2, Hon Okechukwu Ejike Aloy using the famous quote, “Longevity is agift from God”, celebrated the highly revered traditional ruler for attaining such feat in good health and prayed for more Gods wisdom, so he can continue to pilot the affairs of the Ndi Nnewi.

Honourable Anayor Okpalaeke, Member representing Aguata One Constituency also felicitated with the monarch on his 60 years on the throne and 98 years celebration, also thanked Igwe Nnewi for his contribution in the growth of Anambra State through his Industrialisation project in Nnewi.

Member representing Ihiala 1 constituency, Hon. Jude Mgbeobili celebrated the monarch for his peaceful nature and turning his palace to conflict resolution place for Ndi Anambra.

Joining his colleagues in felicitating with the Chief Monarch, Hon. Jude Agba representing Njikoka Constituency 2, congratulated Igwe Orizu for reaching the pinnacle of active service and for bringing development to the people of Nnewi and Nigeria In general through the industrialisation of Nnewi.

Hon. Noble Chinonso Igwe representing Ogbaru constituency 1 re-emphasised that HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu is an upright man, a sincere and a devoted christian who has lived and governed his people with the fear of God. He went ahead to tell a story of the encounter him and his family had with the monarch to substantiate his claim.

HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu III Celebrates 59th Year on The Throne In Glamour And Finesse

The Ofala event which is billed to start with a Pre-Ofala 7am church service at Chapel of Grace, Bishops Court, Diocese of Nnewi on 24th of December and close with a Post Ofala Church service at the Catholic Cathedral of OurLady of Assumption, Okwuani, Nnewi on 7th of January 2024.

I) 24th December, 2023 – Pre-Ofala – 7am Service
II) 27th December, 2023
1, Commissioning of Igwe Orizu ICT Centre, NAUTH Permanent Site.
2, Royal Dinner, 7pm at Igwe Nnewi Palace Ground, Nnewi.
III) 28th December, 2023 – 9am – OFALA DAY 1. An interdenominational service at Igwe Nnewi Palace Ground, Nnewi.
IV) 29th December, 2023: OFALA DAY 2 – 10am. Masquerade display from Anambra and neighbouring States with special appearance of the Pride of Nnewi, the AJO-OFIA (Evil Forest) Masquerade.
V) 30th December, 2023: OFALA DAY 3 – 3PM.  Cultural dispaly from all 51 traditional wards in Nnewi showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Nnewi.
VI) 7th January, 2024: Post Ofala Church Service at Catholic Cathedral of OurLady of Assumption, Okwuani, Nnewi.
