Hardship, Corruption will not End in Nigeria Until…. – Primate Ayodele Tells Tinubu

The head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged President Bola Tinubu to launch an inquiry into the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as a vital first step in ending corruption and easing suffering in Nigeria.

Primate Ayodele underlined how corruption undermines effective government in Nigeria and stressed that if this pattern continues, the nation’s current state of poverty will endure.

In a statement issued through his media assistant, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele called on President Tinubu and all state governors to conduct extensive investigations into their predecessors. He emphasised the necessity of tackling corruption as a widespread and harmful condition that affects the country.

Primate Ayodele Gives Critical Warning To Tinubu Ahead of Of 2023 Election

‘’President Tinubu and every governor should probe their predecessors otherwise there will still be hardship. We know the truth and we see what is happening but for them to come out to say the truth will be difficult. Corruption will increase, it will continue and it will kill good governance.

‘’Corruption is part of our problems; it’s a syndrome that is affecting us. If the president doesn’t probe his predecessor, there will be serious corruption in the year 2024,’’ he said.

However, he noted that Tinubu might encounter obstacles in his investigation of his predecessor because of personal conflicts of interest.

He made the point that although the government can decide not to pursue the case of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor Godwin Emefiele for personal reasons, it could reveal many secrets.

“If Tinubu is serious about ending hardship, he should probe his predecessor’s government but he may not be able to do it.

“Emefiele’s issue will still reveal a lot of things but I doubt if this government will follow up because of interest. The corruption in the previous administration will affect this present one, but nothing may be done to it,” he added.
