In an interview with Channels Television, Audu expressed surprise at how the fake certificate escaped Nigerian authorities and disclosed that N150,000 was spent on an immigration officer’s help in obtaining an ECOWAS passport and a retroactive stamp from both Nigerian Immigration and Benin.
The Federal Government acted on Tuesday, suspending the assessment and validation of degree credentials from the Republic of Benin and Togo, in response to this disclosure.
In addition, eighteen foreign universities were banned by the Nigerian government.
