‘A Tribe Called Judah’ Becomes First Nollywood Movie to Earn N1 Billion – Filmone

The well-known actress and director Funke Akindele has been praised for making her movie “A Tribe Called Judah” the first Nollywood production to bring in N1 billion.

Filmone Entertainment’s official Instagram page, @filmoneng, made the announcement on Thursday. The post was accompanied by warm congratulations to Funke and the hardworking cast and crew.

The title of the ground-breaking film is openly displayed on the Instagram profile, along with a picture of Funke and a few cast members.

“A momentous achievement unfolds as #ATribeCalledJudah etches its name in the annals of Nollywood glory,” said the Instagram post. “This cinematic masterpiece has not only captured hearts but shattered records, becoming the FIRST Nollywood movie to soar past the 1 Billion Naira milestone at the box office.”

The film struck a chord with viewers all throughout the country and was praised for its gripping story, celebration of cultural identity, and the steadfast spirit of Nollywood.

The film, which Funke directed and co-produced with Adeoluwa Owu, debuted on December 15, 2023.
