UPDATE: Nigeria Police Arrest Christmas Eve Terrorists In Plateau

The arrest of a few individuals in relation to the deaths that occurred on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023, in the Barkin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the State has been confirmed by the Plateau State Police Command.

Leadership in Jos, the state capital, was informed on Thursday night by DSP Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

The police spokesperson said he would make a formal announcement about the arrest coming Friday, but he did not provide any details about the arrest.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the assault on the two local councils started on Christmas Eve and continued all day on Christmas Day, resulting in over 200 fatalities, thousands of displaced people, and the burning of multiple houses.

Security professionals are working to prevent other attacks in response to the events, which have sparked a flurry of comments from all quarters.
