Force PRO Defends Conversion of 50 ‘Repented Terrorists’ to Security Agents

Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, has clarified the recent conversion of over fifty people in Kano State who were classified as “repented criminals” to the ranks of constabularies.

Adejobi stressed that these people were changed into constabularies, not police constables, as some previous stories claimed. He clarified that the distinction is important.

This programme is part of the Community Policing initiative that the Kano State administration started.

Adejobi justified the action by saying that it fits the unique characteristics of Kano’s security environment.

In a post on his official X handle, he stated, “They were converted to Police Constabularies, not constables. The 2 words are not the same. It’s the Kano State government’s initiative and project under the Community Policing scheme.

“In my opinion, it’s not a bad idea that the government converted them to useful security agents.

“If you know much about Kano, you would understand the idea of the government in this regard. So, study Kano State, and be informed,” he emphasised.
