The Abia Global Economic Advisory Council (AGEAC) has been established by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State. He cited this move as a component of his administration’s strategic plan to guarantee the state’s overall economic development.
Otti announced the nomination of nineteen Nigerians to the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council in a news statement that was signed by his Chief news Secretary, Kazie Uko.
He added that the goal of the Economic Advisory Council’s constitution was to establish Abia as a self-sufficient economic centre.

Bolaji Balogun, who would also function as a Co-Chairman, Muhammad Sanusi II, Arunma Oteh, the former Emir of Kano, and others have been appointed.
According to the state administration, Mr. Chidi Ajaegbu, Mr. Uche Orji, Ndidi Nwuneli, Mr. Chika Nwobi and Olugbenga Adesida., Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, and Victor Onyenkpa are the members of the Council.
Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe, Dr. Uzodinma Iweala, Mazi Clement Owunna, Ezinwa Okoroafor, Mr. George Agu, Mazi Uzo Nwankwo, and Mr. Chinedu Azodoh are the other members.
The other two are Benedict Oramah and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the former finance minister of Nigeria, who will assist the economic council in an honorary capacity.
Governor Alex Otti, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ikechukwu Uwanna, Commissioner for Budget and Planning Mr. Kingsley Anosike, Commissioner for Finance Mr. Michael Akpara, and Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, and Industry Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu are the other five members of the council, who are chosen from the Abia State Executive Council.

“The economy of Abia State had suffered neglect and became fragile due to untold economic sabotage, over the years and from the wreckage of over the last two decades” it said.
According to the statement, the AGEAC’s diversity and vibrancy will be further enhanced by the newly appointed members’ depth of experience and knowledge in a variety of fields.
