Simon Ekpa, the prime minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, claims that Biafrans are prepared to leave Nigeria since, in the few weeks since the platform’s launch, over two million Biafrans had cast ballots in favour of a self-referendum.
In a statement released on Saturday, separatist and lawyer Ekpa, who practices in Finland, said that the fervour with which Biafrans welcomed electronic voting demonstrated their desire for freedom.
He claims that more Biafra have voted for a self-referendum in the last 10 days than have come from the southeast in Nigeria’s general elections of 2023.

He stated that while stages two and three will start in June and go through October 2024, the voting will continue until May 2024.
“Over two Million Biafrans have voted in self-referendum in just a few days of E-voting commencement. And considering the number of voters from Eastern Nigeria in the last general election, it is clear that Biafrans are ready to go. The first stage of the E-voting continues till May 2024. There are three stages.
“Stage one will(Which commenced February 1 2024, with the E-voting) end in May, stage two start in June and end in August, stage 3 starts in September and end on October 30, 2024″ Indeed, we are on the verge of achieving liberation”, he said.

BRGIE had provided the southeast region’s marginalisation, underdevelopment, instability, and poverty as reasons for a self-referendum.
