UPDATE: CAF President, Motsepe Urges Nigeria to Host World Cup

Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe has pushed Nigeria to submit a proposal to host the FIFA World Cup in the future.

This assertion was made by Motsepe at a news conference held in advance of Sunday’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) championship.

Motsepe commended Nigeria for its love of football and its role in the growth of sports in the continent.

Motsepe declared, “You haven’t been to Africa if you haven’t been to Lagos.”

Additionally, Motsepe disclosed that he will speak with Bola Tinubu on the potential for Nigeria to bid for the World Cup.

Ivory Coast has won two AFCON championships, whereas Nigeria has won three.
