Philip Shaibu Wins PDP Governorship Primary

Philip Shaibu Wins PDP Governorship Primary: Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, emerges victorious in the parallel governorship primary election conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) within the state. The alternative primary reportedly occurred at Shaibu’s residence in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

Bartholomew Moses, the appointed returning officer, declared Phillip Shaibu the PDP Governorship primary election winner, noting his victory by a significant margin of over 300 votes.

Reports indicate that some party delegates were denied entry to the lawn tennis court of the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City, Edo State where the official primary was scheduled to occur. Consequently, these delegates relocated to Shaibu’s residence, where the alternative election was conducted.

Amid these developments, the primary election officially recognized by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) is still in progress at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium.
