Following his terrible death in a helicopter crash in the United States with his wife and kid, Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, has passed away. His family has confirmed the funeral plans.
When the unfortunate helicopter crashed in early February, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), was also on board.
The Wigwes’ burial rites will begin on March 4 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos with a celebration of the former GCEO’s career legacy, per the timetable that was made public.

On March 10, an outdoor service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers, would mark the conclusion of the final rites.
His wife Chizoba and son Chizi will be remembered in separate ceremonies at the Eko Hotel in Lagos on March 5. A memorial night will be held there the following day.
On March 7, there will be a joint singing service at the RCCG, Resurrection Parish, Lekki. This will be followed on Wigwe University, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers, by a Christian wake.
March 9, 2024 is the day of the combined funeral and private internment service.
