According to the Nigerian government, negotiations to create an African equivalent of the American Grammy Awards are still underway with the organisers.
In a Tuesday conversation with Vanguard, Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa disclosed this.
The minister clarified that Nigeria has to be considered among the original members of African Grammys, as it is the birthplace of Afrobeats.
She revealed that the idea to create an African Grammy Awards is being supported by nations like Kenya, South Africa, and Rwanda.
